MARSMAN-DRYSDALE AGRIBUSINESS HOLDINGS, INC.

Marsman Drysdale Agribusiness Holdings, Inc. (MDAHI) is the holding firm of all the agribusiness ventures of the Marsman Drysdale Group. It is internationally known for export-quality bananas.

Its strong labor force and management team have enabled it to address its commitments to buyers throughout the globe. Its investments in research and technology have allowed it to meet the world-class standards of its market, assuring its buyers of products of the highest quality at par with the best in the world.

MDAHI has come a long way from its difficult beginnings in 1950 when the Marsmans' 7,500-hectare abaca plantation in Davao failed because of the dreaded mosaic virus disease. But this investment eventually led the Marsmans to establish one of the first banana plantations in Mindanao -- the Marsman Estate Plantation, Inc., which today produces one of the highest per-hectare yields in the banana industry.

From its first banana plantation established in 1969, MDAHI has expanded and diversified into other banana plantations located in Compostela Valley Province which are: Alta Vista Agri-Ventures Corporation, MD Rio Vista Agri Ventures, Inc., and, MD NabunturanAgri-Ventures, Inc. In the Davao del Norte Province are: MD PanaboAgri-Ventures, Inc., and, MD Davao Agri-Ventures, Inc.

Our plantations yield a wide range of export-quality produce. Marsman Drysdale Agri Ventures is one of the only two major producers of asparagus in the entire country. It is based in Polomolok, South Cotabato. Our mango orchard, with more than 10,000 fruit-bearing trees, is located in the island of Guimaras, Iloilo under the Oro Verde Holding and Development Corporation.

The Marsman Drysdale Biotech and Research Corporation aims to unlock the vast potential of Philippine agriculture through research and technology. Having the only biotechnology research unit in the country's banana industry, MDAHI has already developed in its laboratories different biological agents for the protection and nutrition of its produce.

Because the company is involved in a wide range of labor-intensive projects, its team is composed of over 3,000 employees - a compelling reason for the company to put in place various social development programs. Health, education, housing facilities and other programs are properly addressed in each plantation area. The company is proud of its commitment to its employees, granting them salaries and benefits that are among the highest in the agricultural sector. This policy has rewarded the company with a strong and unified labor force, dedicated to deliver its commitment to buyers around the world. Driven by this commitment and the vision for the Philippines to continue to dominate the banana export trade in Asia according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), MDAHI will continue to undertake more expansion projects in the future to deal with this market development.
